Beautiful Crawl Space Transformation in Elysian, MN

Challenge

Wayne W. in Elysian, MN owns a home next to a lake. When they experience heavy rains, and the lake rises, water would seep into their crawl space. It was causing a musty smell throughout the house and he was concerned about their air quality. He started to research possible solutions to his crawl space problems, and he came across the American Waterworks website. He contacted us to receive a free estimate, so we sent one of our Design Specialists, Shane Nephew, to his home. After Shane inspected the crawl space, he designed a thorough solution to completely waterproof it. Wayne was pleased with our solution, so he scheduled the installation.

Solution

Our production crew started the installation by removing concrete around the perimeter of the crawl space floor for the drainage system and sump pump to be installed. After the sump pump and the WaterGuard drainage system were in place, they filled back the gaps with rock and replaced the concrete. Then, they installed drainage matting and our CleanSpace vapor barrier to protect the space from moisture. They completely sealed off the crawl space from water and they also made it a more energy efficient space, so now Wayne is enjoying savings on his energy bill. The crawl space has been transformed from a wet, musty space, to a beautiful, clean and bright space! Wayne is glad he chose to encapsulate and waterproof his crawl space.
