Basement Walls Stabilized with Wall Anchors in Ostrander, MN

Challenge

Joe B. in Ostrander, MN wanted to finish his basement, but he had water seeping through his cracked and bowing foundation walls. He knew he needed to have these problems fixed before he started his project, so he contacted American Waterworks for a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, went onsite to inspect the basement and to provide Joe with the best long-term solution.

Solution

Based on Rick’s design, our production crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of the basement floor and connected it to the existing sump pump, so that water could be properly discharged from the home. Then, they installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls to keep moisture out and to guide and water seeping through the walls to the WaterGuard. Lastly, they installed 7 wall anchors along the cracked foundation walls to permanently halt movement and prevent further deterioration. The anchors also provide the opportunity for the wall to straighten back to its original position over time. Joe now has peace of mind that his basement will remain dry and stable.
