Water Seeping Through Foundation in Fort Atkinson, IA
Challenge
Tom H. in Fort Atkinson, IA had water seeping through his foundation walls in his basement. He started researching waterproofing contractors and he came across the American Waterworks website. He was impressed with our company and our products, so he contacted us for a free estimate. One of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, went onsite to inspect his basement and design a thorough solution specific to Tom’s needs. Tom was pleased with Pete’s plan to waterproof his basement, so he scheduled the project.
Solution
Our production crew started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor. They sprayed our Shotcrete wall recovery system along the foundation walls to stabilize them. Then, they laid our WaterGuard drainage system in the trench they created and connected them to two sump pumps that they installed in opposite corners of the basement. Next, the EverLast basement windows were installed. Our EverLast windows are designed to be more energy efficient than the steel-frame windows that are the industry standard. Lastly, they installed our CleanSpace vapor barrier system along the walls to keep moisture out and prevent mold growth. The project took a couple of days to complete, but Tom was very pleased with the result and the work ethic of our team. He is now enjoying a dry, healthier basement!
