Settling Foundation Restored with Push Piers in Rochester, MN
Challenge
Heidi L. in Rochester, MN has a beautiful home that was built in 1996. After a period of time, she chose to add an attached garage. Over the last few years, she noticed their foundation settling because of cracks in the brick, the garage floor, and even inside the home. She started doing some research and discovered that American Waterworks has been restoring foundations for almost 3 decades. She contacted us and received a free estimate from Dylan Woitas, one of our Design Specialists. He assured her that we could lift and support the foundation by installing 10 push piers. She approved of the plan and moved forward with the project.
Solution
Our production crew started the installation by excavating the soil surrounding the home where the foundation had started settling until they reached the bottom of the footings. Then, they secured brackets under the footings and inserted the piers until they hit competent, supportive soil. The piers transfer the weight of the home to the supportive soil, preventing further settlement. The crew wrapped up the project with installing our SentrySeal Waterproofing Membrane to the exterior foundation and our SilverGlo Insulation System to hold back moisture and ensure energy efficient insulation. Heidi was happy she chose to invest in the stability of her home, and we are glad we could restore her peace of mind!
