Submerged Basement Restored in Genoa, WI

Challenge

A homeowner in Genoa, WI had flooding and standing water in a back room in his basement and was experiencing high humidity. He was concerned about the damage that was being done to his home and knew it was time to call a professional. He did his research and was glad to learn that American Waterworks has been the leading waterproofing contractor in the region for 30 years! He contacted us a for a FREE estimate, and we sent one of our Design Specialists to his home to evaluate the situation and propose a solution. He approved of the plan and moved forward with the installation.

Solution

Our production team started the installation of our waterproofing system by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the room to create a trench for the WaterGuard drainage system and the sump pump. They installed the CleanSpace vapor barrier along the basement walls to keep out moisture and to prevent from potential mold growth. Then, they installed the TripleSafe sump pump and WaterGuard drainage system, which connects to the sump pump. Water is now properly guided through the WaterGuard into the sump pump, and then expelled from the home through the discharge line. The crew finished the project with installing our recommended SaniDry dehumidifier system to take care of the high humidity. The homeowner was pleased with the result and glad he made the investment to protect his home.
