Wet Basement Restored in Plum City, WI

Challenge

Larry B. in Plum City, WI had water leaking into his basement through the crack where the wall meets the floor. After each heavy rainfall, he was left with a large mess. He was tired of the mess and the musty smell coming from the basement, so he decided to contact American Waterworks for a free estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists to his home to evaluate the situation and to provide Larry with a solution to fit his needs.

Solution

Our production crew started installing our waterproofing system by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench. Then, they laid the WaterGuard in the trench and our recommended TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. Next, they installed our CleanSpace wall vapor barrier to prevent mold growth and to give the basement a clean, finished look. The crew filled back the gaps with rock and replaced the concrete around the sump pump and over the WaterGuard. Water now properly drains to the sump pump through the WaterGuard. The water is then expelled from the home through the discharge line. Larry’s peace of mind has been restored and he can enjoy a dry, healthier basement for years to come!
