Radon Detection and Mitigation in Rochester, MN
Challenge
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that is tasteless and odorless. Radon easily goes unnoticed because of this, but it is very important to have your home tested to protect you and your family's health. Rhonda P. in Rochester, MN had her home tested for radon gas and found that they had been living with high levels of radon for quite some time. She was eager to find a solution because she knew that radon is the #2 leading cause of lung cancer.
Solution
Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, inserted a PVC pipe through the sump pump system which creates a suction point for radon gas. The PVC pipe runs up the basement wall, out of the home, and upwards. There is a fan near the exit point on the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is being pushed out and away from the home. After the installation of the radon mitigation system, the home showed much lower radon levels. Rhonda is glad she took the necessary measures to protect her family from radon gas.
