Radon Mitigation in Nelson, WI
Challenge
Arthur H. in Nelson, WI contacted American Waterworks after seeing one of our commercials on TV. He had recently learned about the dangers of radon gas and was interested in installing a mitigation system. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Brian Ramirez, to meet with Arthur, inspect his home, and provide the best, cost-effective solution. Arthur was impressed with Brian’s presentation and our products, so he moved forward with the project.
Solution
Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, drilled a hole through the concrete basement to create a suction point for the gas. Then, a PVC pipe is inserted which goes up through the house and exits the home through the roof. A fan is installed at the top of the PVC pipe to ensure that the radon gas is pushed away from the home. The post mitigation test results showed that his home was now a much safer environment. The installation took only one day to complete, and Arthur is glad he took action to protect his and his family’s health.
