Wall Anchors Stabilize Foundation in Jasper, MN

Challenge

April N. in Jasper, MN had some severely cracked and bowing basement walls. She was concerned about the structural integrity of the foundation and if the damage was negatively affecting the value of her home. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Eric Hazelton, to evaluate the situation and propose a cost-effective, permanent solution to fit her needs. After Eric’s inspection, he was able to recommend our Geo-Lock Wall Anchors to stabilize and straighten the foundation.

Solution

Our Foreman, Juan Pena, and his production crew began the project by excavating the soil surrounding the home to gain access to the foundation. They installed 14 Geo-Lock Wall Anchors by drilling small holes through the block foundation and inserting long metal rods through the walls and into the soil surrounding the foundation. Then, the crew secured the rods by placing plates on each end and tightening them. The anchors immediately halted any further deterioration, and as they are tightened over time, they have the potential to gradually straighten the wall. The crew also installed our SentrySeal membrane and SilverGlo insulation to seal off any cracks and prevent water from entering the basement. April was impressed with the installation, and can rest easy, knowing her foundation is now permanently stabilized.
