WaterGuard Protects Basement in Brownsville, MN
Challenge
Lorrie W. in Brownsville, MN had an existing sump pump in her home, but water was seeping into her basement whenever it rained. It was creating a musty smell, and she could see that it was starting to do some damage to the wood paneling on the walls. She contacted American Waterworks for a FREE estimate, and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Rick Weber, to evaluate the situation. After Rick’s inspection, he was able to recommend our WaterGuard drainage system. Lorrie approved of the plan and moved forward with the project.
Solution
Our Foreman, Arturo Mares, and his production crew began the waterproofing project by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement and installing 126 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system. Our WaterGuard is our most widely used drain system because of its resistance to clogs, its easy-to-use access service ports, and its ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. Now any water seepage is properly guided through the WaterGuard to the sump pump, where it is discharged from the home. The crew completed the project with filling back the gaps with rock, replacing the concrete, and cleaning up their work area. Lorrie was impressed with the quick installation and is glad she made the investment to protect her home!
