PolyLevel Lifts and Restores Concrete at Perkins in Rochester, MN
Challenge
A representative for the Perkins restaurant located in south Rochester contacted American Waterworks after seeing advertising on one of our vehicles. The sidewalk in front of the restaurant had settled, creating a trip hazard between the sidewalk and the curb. Our Design Specialist, Reed Hudson, evaluated the situation and assured him that we could raise the concrete to make it a level and safe surface once again.
Solution
American Waterworks lifted several of the sidewalk and curb sections through use of PolyLevel - a two-part, high-density polyurethane foam. Pencil sized holes were drilled through the concrete, and foam was injected to lift the sinking slabs back to their original height and even with the curb. Trip hazards were effectively removed, and the process avoided the unnecessary action of replacing the concrete. The representatives were pleased with the quick and non-invasive installation, and we are glad that Perkins customers can enjoy a safe sidewalk for years to come!
