Seepage through crawl space walls and the crawl space floor is a problem in many homes. If it is left untreated, it can easily be damaged by mold, termites, and wood rot. Thankfully, wet crawl space problems can be eliminated by installing an effective waterproofing system.

Homeowners in Camp Douglas, WI were experiencing this exact problem. Water was seeping through their crawl space, causing them to worry about mold, water moisture, and pests. They did some research online and came across American Waterworks and our crawl space waterproofing products. They called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist went to their home, inspected their problems, and came up with a solution that worked for them and their needs. They were confident with his designed solution, so they went ahead with the installation.

Solution

The best time to install a crawl space waterproofing system is when the crawl space is being sealed or encapsulated. The air and vapor barriers used in the encapsulation process prevent the moist exterior air from entering the crawl space and condensing on cool crawl space surfaces. A waterproofing system will capture water that seeps through crawl space walls and floor areas, guiding this water to a sump pump for ejection to the exterior.

Our Foreman and his production team began the process by installing our drainage matting on the crawl space floor. Our drainage matting provides extra durability and larger drain channels to handle the job. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Encapsulation Vapor Barrier on top of the drainage matting. Our CleanSpace Vapor Barrier transforms the crawl space into a dry, clean, and energy-efficient part of the home. This process stops moisture from passing through the floors and walls.
