Bowing Wall Secured in Enderlin, ND

Challenge

When foundation walls start to bow or tilt inward, homeowners become alarmed and do not know what to do. Outside pressure from water and soil can cause foundation walls to collapse, making homeowners react quickly to the situation.

A homeowner in Enderlin, ND had bowed walls in their basement and they wanted them fixed as soon as possible. They got in contact with American Waterworks and scheduled a FREE Estimate. Our Design Specialist went to their home, carefully inspected their problems, and came up with a solution that fit their needs and budget. After a thorough diagnosis and the homeowner got all of their questions answered, they followed through with the project and got an installation date on the schedule.

Solution

Our Foreman and his crew installed our PowerBraces around their basement wall perimeter. Our PowerBrace System is a foundation wall repair installation that is designed to stabilize failing basement walls and provide the potential to straighten them over time. Since this system has a special zinc coating, corrosion is not an issue. The homeowner was happy with the repairs and was grateful we were able to help him!

Step 1: Based on the wall height of the basement, our team will cut each beam to the appropriate height.

Step 2: Our team will attach the top of each brace to the floor joist near the mudsill at the top of the wall. The bracket gets bolted to the floor joist and contains a large bolt for adjusting and tightening over time.
