Challenge

A female homeowner in Gonvick, MN had a sagging floor and water in her basement, causing her to worry about the value and safety of her home. She did a Google search on basement waterproofing contractors in her service area and she found American Waterworks. She liked the photos and information that she saw, so she scheduled a FREE estimate with our Design Specialist team. Our Design Specialist went to her home, inspected the problems in her basement, and drew up a detailed solution of our SmartJack, WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, and our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier. The homeowner was confident in our proposal, so she signed the contract, wrote out a deposit, and got a date scheduled for the installation.

Solution

Our Foreman and his production team began the project by installing a SmartJack to repair the sagging floor. Our SmartJacks are designed to support sagging and undersized beams while restoring the stability and straightness of sagging floor joists. Next, our team broke out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Below-Floor Drain, which is designed to prevent water clogs, collect water seepage from basement walls, and has easy-to-access service ports when time for maintenance. Lastly, our crew installed our CleanSpace Wall System Vapor Barrier around the basement wall perimeter, which is designed to prevent mold and mildew, cover any holes or divots in the wall, and give the basement a clean appearance. To complete the project, our team covered the open gaps with river rock and pea gravel and applied new concrete over them. The homeowner could not believe the transformation, and had a great experience from start to finish!
