Sinking Sidewalk Lifted in Silver Lake, MN
Challenge
Concrete is a strong material but it is not destructible. Most concrete issues start with the soil underneath. Soil can soften, shrink, or become unstable if it is not compacted correctly. Situations like this cause voids, which allow heavy concrete to sink. As concrete sinks, it can cause cracking and breaking which is not appealing to the eye either.
A resident of Silver Lake, MN was seeing similar problems like this on their sidewalk. They did some research online and came across American Waterworks on one of our third-party sites. They scheduled a FREE estimate with our design specialist, Kevin. Kevin went to the resident's house, thoroughly inspected and diagnosed the concrete, and proposed a plan that would work for them and their needs. The resident was confident in Kevin's proposal, so he signed the contract and got a date scheduled for the repairs.
Solution
Our Foreman, Troy, and his crew member started the project by introducing themselves to the homeowner and ensuring all of their questions were answered. After an introduction, our crew drilled small holes throughout the concrete slab. Once that was completed, our team installed injection ports over each hole, which serves as a guide for the PolyLevel. Lastly, our crew injected our PolyLevel, lifting and raising the concrete slab so the entire surface was even. Once the project was completed, Troy gave the homeowner a thorough walkthrough of what was done and ensured they were happy with the work.
