Crumbling Basement Wall Concerns Homeowner in Harvey, ND

Challenge

A homeowner in Harvey, ND, was walking through their home when they discovered large cracks near the top of their walls and severe deterioration in the basement. Immediately concerned, the homeowners wanted someone to come out and look at the damage and possible solutions. The homeowners found American Waterworks and signed up for their FREE estimate. Design Specialist, James, drove out to the home to inspect and come up with a solution.

Solution

After completing the inspection, James determined that the WaterGuard system, a feedline, SmartJacks, and Everbrace be installed in the home. Before the start of the project, the crew had to make sure they had everything they needed since the home had no power, water, or lights. After making sure they had all their equipment necessary, our foreman, Domenic, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the project. The crew started by breaking up and moving the concrete away from, the crumbling edge. Next, the crew installed WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. Along with the WaterGuard, the crew installed a feed line across the middle of the basement. Then, the crew installed 5 SmartJacks on the main support beam to reinforce the structure. To further stabilize the home, the crew installed EverBraces on the west and south basement walls.
