Crack Concerns Homeowners in Albany, MN

Challenge

A homeowner in Albany, MN, searched for a resolution for the large crack growing along their west wall. Following many discussions with people around their town, the homeowners decided to work with us, American Waterworks. The homeowners contacted our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. When the appointment details were confirmed, we sent our Design Specialist, Ryan, to the home to evaluate the status. Following his evaluation, Ryan determined the foundation wall was bowing due to added weight from the soil. Ryan suggested that the homeowner stabilize the wall to prevent any further damage. The homeowners agreed with Ryan's suggestions and the mending began.

Solution

Our Foreman, Tremaine, and his crew traveled to the home to begin the stabilization process. Since the crew only had one wall to repair, their sole focus was on the Geo-Lock anchors. Along the entire west basement wall, the crew attached six Geo-Lock anchors about five and a half feet apart. Once the Geo-Locks were installed, the crew provided the homeowners with the tightening kit. Over time, this kit will gradually straighten the bowing wall. After the crew completed the installation, they cleaned up and left the basement cleaner than before. The homeowners were overjoyed that the risk of wall failure was eliminated.
