Leaky Basement Bathroom Restored in Dodge Center, MN
Challenge
A homeowner in Dodge Center was concerned when she noticed water damage on one of the walls in her basement bathroom. She was unsure what this meant and didn't know the next best thing to do without professional help, so she went to find a company that could assist her. During her search she found the American Waterworks website and was interested in our FREE estimate services. She decided to schedule her own free estimate and was eager to find a solution to fix the entering water once and for all. We got the homeowner's request and sent over Design Specialist Brian Ramirez to inspect the area and give his recommendations.
Solution
Brian discussed thing over with the homeowner and when he took a look at the basement bathroom, he knew just what the issue was. He explained to the homeowner that the reason the water was coming into the basement was most likely because of hydrostatic pressure. When water is absorbed into the soil surrounding the home's foundation, that water puts pressure against the walls and can sometimes be pushed into the basement. The homeowner was surprised to hear this, but also was happy when Brian informed her of a solution, which she agreed to move forward with. One of our Formen, Diego Barrientos, and his crew arrived at the site to install the WaterGuard system, an interior drainage system that collects any water that seeps into the walls and sends it away. The homeowner was grateful for the work done by our crew and happy to have water-free walls again.
