Foundation Repair Company Restores Wall in Alta Vista, IA
Challenge
A homeowner from Alta Vista, IA was growing more and more concerned over a bowing wall in their basement. The homeowner knew that if they left a foundation issue unaddressed, it could compromise the structural integrity of the home. After speaking with friends, and neighbors, and doing research of their own, they decided that American Waterworks was the right choice for them. A few weeks after setting up their FREE estimate, one of our Design Specialists headed out to the home to complete his inspection.
Solution
Once our Design Specialist completed his walkthrough, he informed the homeowner that he wanted to use our GeoLock Wall Anchor System to address the failing wall. He explained that our GeoLock Anchors will permanently stabilize your foundation wall by anchoring your walls to the hard-packed virgin soil beyond your foundation. He went on to say that after installation, wall anchors can often be tightened over time to further straighten your foundation walls and pull them back to their original position. The homeowner agreed and work began weeks later.
Our Foreman, Dylon, and his team arrived at the home and got to work. They began by verifying measurements for the anchors both interior and exterior. Next, the team began by digging out exterior holes for the exterior anchor and then drilled a hole to content in the basement. Next, the team ran a steel beam through the hole to connect the anchors. Finally, they tightened the anchors and backfilled the soil over the exterior GeoLock anchor. The team ended up installing 16 of our GeoLock anchors throughout the basement. Once the job was complete, the homeowner was thrilled to know their foundation worries were in the past!
