Curb Appeal Gets Updated in Rochester, MN
Challenge
A homeowner in Rochester, MN, was growing more and more frustrated with the concrete walkway leading up to the front of their home. The walkway had shown signs of sinking throughout the years and had fully separated from the front stoop when the homeowner decided to give us a call to see if we could do anything to fix the eyesore. After our call center set him up with his FREE estimate, our Design Specialist, Aidan, headed out to the property a few weeks later to complete an inspection and make recommendations to fix the issue.
Solution
Once Aidan concluded his walkthrough, he informed the homeowner that while sinking can be an eyesore and trip hazard, it's all too common and is relatively easy to fix. Aidan went on to say that American Waterworks only uses the most modern and effective technique, PolyLevel, to address the issue. He explained that our PolyLevel solution is a polyurethane foam that expands when injected under problem slabs, lifting it back to its original position. He explained that, in comparison to other methods of repairing sinking concrete, our method was cheaper, less invasive, and has a quicker cure time, getting homeowners back on the go faster. The couple agreed to the proposed work and the project was scheduled.
Our Foreman, Jordan, arrived on the day of the installation and got to work. He began by verifying Aidan's proposal and areas of sinking. Next, he drilled strategic holes in the problem slab. Then, he inserted the PolyLevel, closely monitoring the lifting and leveling process to ensure no over-correction was made. Once he had completed the lifting, he sealed any cracks and joints of the concrete with our NexusPro sealant, to ensure that no elements found their way under the slab. Our customers are thrilled that they no longer need to worry about sinking concrete!
