Uneven Sidewalk Struggles in Sharon, ND

Challenge

A homeowner in Sharon, ND, knew it was time to have their sidewalk repaired after years of it deteriorating. Hoping to avoid total concrete replacement, the homeowner began looking into concrete repair options closest to them. The homeowner asked a local Facebook group for any suggestions and many of them recommended working with us, American Waterworks. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, James to the home to begin the inspection.

Solution

Following James' arrival, he began his detailed inspection of the sidewalk and surrounding concrete. During the estimate, James found that the sidewalk was sinking due to soil settlement and required lifting. James told his findings to the homeowner and recommended a solution to solve these issues. After considering all their options, the homeowner decided to go ahead with James' plan. Next, the plans were sent to our Foreman, Charlie, and his crew. Once Charlie and his crew arrived at the home, they began the PolyLevel installation. PolyLevel is our polyurethane foam injection solution that lifts any sunken concrete slab. Charlie and his crew lifted the entire sidewalk slabs. Once the sidewalk was lifted, the crew shifted their focus to taking out the old joints and replacing them with NexusPro Joint Sealant, a silicone-based solution. Once all the joints were replaced, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was grateful for the excellent work completed by the crew.
