Sunken Flooring Leveled in Charles City, IA

Challenge

A homeowner in Charles City, IA, noticed their floors were sinking and their doors were sticking. Worried there was a larger issue at hand, the homeowner wanted to find answers. The homeowner asked a local Facebook group for any recommendations, and several of them recommended working with us, American Waterworks. After hearing several recommendations, the homeowner decided to take a closer look at our website. Impressed with our work, the homeowner decided to sign up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of Brady, one of our Design Specialists.

Solution

Brady arrived at the home and started his thorough investigation of the home. While inspecting the home, he discovered the floors were sagging due to poor stabilization. To prevent any further damage, Brady proposed permanently stabilizing the floors with SmartJacks. SmartJacks is a high-capacity adjustable steel pier designed to stop settling and even raise the floor to where it was prior. Brady presented his proposal to the homeowner and they agreed with his suggestions. Next, Brady sent the plans to our office to be finalized. Once they were given the final stamp of approval, the plans were sent to Tremaine and his crew to begin the project. Tremaine and his crew arrived at the home and started the SmartJack installation. The crew installed five SmartJacks along the south basement wall. Additionally, the crew installed a supplemental beam to ensure the floors stayed secured. Once the beam was secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted to know their basement floors were properly secured and stable.
