Photo Album: West Union Community Library Gets Waterproofed

The Community Library in West Union, IA had water leaking into the basement through the floor. This was not the first time they had experienced this problem, and they were becoming more and more concerned about the air quality of the library and the health implications it could cause. They knew that anytime they experienced a heavy rain, they would have to deal with a wet basement, and it was time to contact a professional. They were happy to learn that American Waterworks has been the leading waterproofing contractor in the region for 30 years!  Our Foreman, Kiko Pena, and his crew started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench for the WaterGuard drainage system. Then, they installed the WaterGuard along the perimeter of the basement floor and two of our recommended TripleSafe sump pumps in the corners, together with our CleanSpace vapor barrier along the walls. They connected the WaterGuard to the sump pumps so that water would now be properly guided to the sumps and would then be discharged from the building. The crew replaced the concrete and cleaned up after the project, and the basement of the library has since been a dry and healthier space.
