Photo Album: Failing Foundation and Wet Basement Restored in Lyle, MN

Emily W. in Lyle, MN contacted American Waterworks because she had large cracks in her foundation, inward bowing walls, and water seeping into her basement. She was concerned about the stability of her home and knew that the problem would only get worse. She met with one of our Design Specialists, Pete Wangen, who recommended she have our waterproofing system, structural support jacks and supplemental l support beams installed to stop any further deterioration. Our Foreman, Matt Zeller, and his production crew installed our WaterGuard drainage system, our recommended TripleSafe sump pump, and our CleanSpace wall vapor barrier. WaterGuard is installed along the interior perimeter of the foundation walls, where it collects water and sends it to a sump pump system. From there, the water is expelled from the home through the discharge line. Next, the crew installed our PowerBraces, supplemental beams, and SmartJacks to stabilize the foundation. The PowerBrace is an adjustable steel I-beam system with two important benefits: stabilizing bowed or tilting walls, and (over time) forcing bowed or tilting wall sections back to their original position. Emily’s peace of mind has been restored, knowing she chose a permanent solution to protect her home!
