Photo Album: Radon Mitigation System Installed in Rochester, MN

Shannon B. of Rochester, MN got her radon tested and the result came out to be 7 pCi/L, which is higher than the safe limit. She wanted to get a mitigation system installed so she got in touch with American Waterworks to have our Design Specialist, Brian Ramirez, out to her home. Brian went to Shannon's home, inspected the layout of her home, and drew up a plan for where to install the system. After a couple of hours, Shannon was confident in Brian's proposal, so she went ahead with the project.  Our Foreman, Dakota Merchlewitz, and his crew began the project by drilling a hole in the sump pump system for the suction point. Next, our team connected PVC piping from the sump pump to the ceiling and out of the home, where our team installed the system. The mitigation system is the heart of the system; if it isn't working properly, no radon will be able to escape the home. Once they installed the system and its cover outside of the home, they connected PVC piping from the system alongside the home until it got to the roof. The radon was able to escape the home quickly and efficiently. Shannon was glad she got this taken care of and her peace of mind was restored knowing she was breathing in safe air.
