Water Leaking into Basement in Brownsdale, MN
Challenge
Dale K. in Brownsdale, MN had an existing sump pump, but water was still leaking into his basement through the crack where the wall meets the floor. After each heavy rainfall, he was left with a large mess. He was tired of the mess and the musty smell coming from the basement, so he decided to contact American Waterworks for a free estimate. We sent one of our Design Specialists, Mike Radosevich, to his home to evaluate the situation first-hand. Mike inspected the basement and designed a thorough waterproofing solution based on Dale’s needs.
Solution
Our production crew started installing our waterproofing system by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench. Then, they laid the WaterGuard in the trench and a TripleSafe sump pump where the old sump pump was. They filled back the gaps with rock and then replaced the concrete around the sump pump and over the WaterGuard. Water now properly drains to the sump pump through the WaterGuard. The water is then expelled from the home through the discharge line. Dale’s peace of mind has been restored and he can enjoy a dry, healthier basement for years to come!
