Wet Basement in Claremont, MN Gets Transformed into Dry, Healthier Space
Challenge
Rodney F. in Claremont, MN had a significant amount of water leaking into his basement, creating a damp, unhealthy space. His sump pump was old and unable to keep up with the amount of water that was seeping into his basement. He knew the problem was only going to get worse and knew he needed a permanent solution to his wet basement fixed, so he called American Waterworks to receive a free estimate.
Solution
One of our waterproofing experts, Rick Weber, designed a thorough solution using two sump pumps, our WaterGuard drainage system, spray foam insulation and Foamax wall panels. Rodney was impressed with the solution, so he chose to move forward with the installation. Our production team started the installation by removing the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench for the WaterGuard. After installing the TripleSafe sump pumps and laying the WaterGuard, they replaced the concrete and installed the Foamax wall panels. Foamax is an advanced polyisocyanurate foam insulation panel designed to prevent condensation and make the basement a more comfortable space. Lastly, they sprayed the rim joists with spray foam insulation and then set up a SaniDry dehumidifier to remove the humidity from the basement and keep it a dry, clean space. The installation took two days to complete, and now Rodney is enjoying his transformed basement. He is glad he chose American Waterworks to waterproof his basement.
