Wet Basement in Winthrop, MN Gets Waterproofed
Challenge
Andrew in Winthrop, MN was suffering from water leaking into his basement through his block foundation. Water was building up in his hollow block foundation and was seeping through the crack where the wall meets the floor. He called American Waterworks to receive a free estimate, so we sent a Design Specialist to his home to inspect his basement and create the right solution for his needs.
Solution
Our Design Specialist recommended having our WaterGuard drainage system installed and connecting it to Andrew’s existing sump pump since it was still functioning properly. Our production team started the installation by removing concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor and drilling small holes through the block foundation to relieve the water pressure. They laid the WaterGuard and filled back gaps with rock. Then, they connected the drainage system to the sump pump, so that water could properly be discharged from his home. Lastly, they put a thin line of CleanSpace over the WaterGuard to protect from any moisture seeping through and then replaced the concrete.
