Basement Waterproofing and Wall Restoration in Lake Benton, MN
Challenge
Evelyn in Lake Benton, MN had water leaking through her wood foundation into her finished basement. Unfortunately, the water had caused damaged to her drywall and flooring. She decided to contact a professional waterproofing contractor to find a durable and long-term solution to her problem. She contacted American Waterworks and we sent one of our Design Specialists, Eric Hazelton, to her home to provide her with a free estimate and personalized waterproofing plan. She liked the thorough plan that Eric developed, so she scheduled the installation.
Solution
Our production crew removed the damaged portion of the drywall and then removed the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to create a trench for our WaterGuard drainage system. They laid the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement, so the water would be properly guided to the sump pump. Then, they filled back the gaps around the WaterGuard with rock and replaced the concrete. They sprayed the pockets in the wood foundation with our spray foam insulation and then installed the EverLast half-wall restoration system. This wall system includes metal studs and an inorganic, mold-resistant wall product that replaces the bottom 32" of the drywall. This is a permanent solution for water-damaged dry wall! The installation took a few days to complete, but now Evelyn’s peace of mind has been restored and she is enjoying a dry, healthier basement!
