Leaky Basement Transformed in Rochester, MN

Challenge

Debra S. in Rochester, MN was suffering from water leaking into her basement. The water caused damaged to her property, and the basement was musty and unhealthy. After each heavy rainfall, she was frustrated with having a wet basement. She wanted to find a way to fix her wet basement to ensure this would not happen again, so she contacted American Waterworks. Our Design Specialist, Ryan Powell, met with her and proposed a solution to fit her needs.

Solution

Our Foreman, Hugo Sanchez, and his production crew were able to successfully waterproof Debra’s basement by installing 180 feet of our WaterGuard drainage system around the perimeter of her basement. Next, we installed our recommended TripleSafe sump pump in the corner. The crew completed the job by installing our Foamax Wall Insulation and insulated floor decking. Water now drains through the WaterGuard into the sump pump. From there, the water is pumped through the discharge line and is expelled from the home. In addition, Debra added our SaniDry dehumidifier to control the humidity, and had our RockWell egress window installed. Debra was very pleased with the results and is glad she made the investment to protect her home.
