Basement Waterproofed in Alpha, MN
Challenge
Laurie C. of Alpha, MN had water leaking into her basement and needed to figure out a way to keep it from happening. After doing some research, she gave American Waterworks a call to set up a Free Estimate. Our Design Specialist, Dylan Woitas, went out to her home to inspect the issue and come up with a solution. After a thorough and informative presentation, Laurie went ahead and got the installation on schedule.
Solution
Our foreman, Matt Zeller, and his production crew started the installation by cutting out the concrete around the perimeter of the basement forming a trench. Inside the trench, our crew installed 86 feet of WaterGuard, which is an underground drain system that prevents any further water clogs. Next, they formed a 13-foot-long feed line from the WaterGuard to our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which is the best sump pump that we have and it provides three levels of extra protection. They covered all the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
A proper discharge line for our sump pump should never end right outside the foundation wall because water will leak back into the basement. With that said, our crew installed an IceGuard System outside of the home, followed by a LawnScape Outlet for accumulated water to escape. Our IceGuard System is designed to serve as an additional block to protect the foundation wall from any further water damage. Laurie was very content and satisfied with the outcome and was glad she chose American Waterworks to improve the life and stability of her home!
