Basement Walls Waterproofed and Stabilized in Fargo, ND

Challenge

Damp or wet basements can cause more than just a headache for homeowners. These problems can create bigger problems like mold, mildew, rot, structural damage, and health problems. Along with that, foundation settlement, soil washout, hydrostatic pressure, or another force can cause your home to experience severe damage.

Mary A. of Fargo, ND had a deteriorating foundation and water seepage problems in her basement, making her feel extremely nervous and unsafe living in her own home. She got in contact with our office staff at American Waterworks and got some general information about our repair products. She requested a FREE Estimate, so our Design Specialist, Richie Noreen, went to her home to inspect her basement problems and come up with solutions. Mary got all of her questions answered and felt confident in Richie's proposal, so she went ahead with the project and got an installation date scheduled.

Solution

Our Foreman, Brian Colliton, and his production team began the installation by breaking out the concrete perimeter of the basement floor, forming a trench. Inside the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, which serves as an underground drain and collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team applied our CleanSpace Wall System around the basement wall perimeter, which is pliable enough to cover uneven surfaces and irregular walls, especially areas with large rocks or divots. It is also a great way to prevent humidity and mold from making its way through the concrete walls and into the basement. Lastly, our crew installed our PowerBraces against the CleanSpace to stabilize the failing wall and provide the potential to straighten over time. With time, the PowerBrace System can be tightened to make bowed or titled walls straighter and more vertical. To complete the project, Brian and his team covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete. Mary was very satisfied with the project and had a remarkable experience with each of our company departments!
