Basement Waterproofing Repairs in New Rockford, ND

Challenge

The way basement foundations are constructed, and the different materials used together contribute to the common problem of water leaking through a wall basement wall and/or a basement floor. The one universal factor contributing to a wet basement is the poor performance of exterior drainage systems. Even though many houses have footing drains, the drains can be crushed during the backfilling process and will eventually clog with silt and plant roots, rendering it useless.

A homeowner in New Rockford, ND had water leaking into their basement from their wall-floor joint, making them feel nervous about their home repair needs. They did some research and came across American Waterworks underground drainage systems. They called our office line and scheduled a FREE Estimate with our Design Specialist, Ian Schultz. Ian went to their home, inspected their water problems, and came up with a solution. The homeowner got all of their questions answered and was confident in Ian's presentation, so they went ahead with the repairs.

Solution

Our Foreman, Ryan Loe, and his production team started the installation process by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter with a jackhammer, forming a waterway trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard System, which serves as an underground drain, prevents water clogs, and collects water seepage from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall Vapor Barrier, which is made to prevent humidity and mold build-up and act as an extra wall protectant. To complete the installation, our crew covered the open gaps with rock and applied new concrete.
