Basement Waterproofing in Warsaw, MN
Challenge
Water will find its way into a basement in any way that it can. Two of these causes can be from groundwater underneath the home or from leaky basement windows. As basement windows age, they begin to break down and show signs of rust or decay, which enables water to seep through.
A homeowner in Warsaw, MN was experiencing both of these problems -- Water was leaking from their basement window and groundwater was leaking through their basement carpet. They came across an American Waterworks advertisement that highlighted our free estimates. They called our office line and set up a no-obligation free estimate with our Design Specialist. He went to their home, carefully inspected their problems, and drew up a well-designed solution to restore their basement and peace of mind. After a thorough inspection, the homeowner was confident in our proposal and products, so they went ahead with the project and got an installation date on the schedule.
Solution
Our Foreman and his production crew began the project by doing a walkthrough with the homeowner and answering any last-minute questions they had before the installation. After a clear introduction, our team got to work and start the installation by breaking out part of the concrete floor perimeter, forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System, which is made to prevent water and mud clogs by staying above the "mud zone", it collects water seepage from basement walls, and it serves as an underground drain. Next, our team broke out part of the wall beneath the window to install our WellDuct Window Drain. The purpose of this special drain is to guide leaking water from the window into the WaterGuard. Lastly, our team installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System, which is made to keep basements dry for extended periods of time. Our TripleSafe is the best sump pump we offer for homeowners because it solves all three water problems in one system and it provides three layers of water protection, including a battery back-up for power failure. Our sump pump discharge line led to the outside of the home, giving the water an exit with our Lawnscape Outlet. To complete the project, our Foreman and his team filled the open floor gaps with river rock, applied new concrete, and swept up their mess, ensuring the basement was much cleaner than when they found it.
