Leaking Basement Fixed in Albert Lea, MN
Challenge
Basements can flood from basically anywhere, especially through foundation cracks. The soil that surrounds the foundation wall collects can absorb water which causes the soil to expand and the weight presses up against the foundation. As the pressure builds up, the water guides its way into the basement.
A homeowner in Albert Lea was having this exact issue. Water was leaking into her basement and during her Early Bird Annual Maintenace on our foundation wall anchors that we had installed in 2017, our Service Technician, Mitchell, noticed the leaks and proposed a solution that would benefit her basement and home repair needs. Mitchell proposed our CleanSpace Wall System, our WaterGuard Drainage System, and our SuperSump Plus M53 Sump Pump System. The homeowner felt confident in all of the products, their warranties, and what they could do for their home, so they signed Mitchell's proposal and set up a date for the installation.
Solution
Our Foreman, Jose, and his production team started the installation by breaking out the concrete floor perimeter and forming a trench. In the trench, our team installed our WaterGuard Drainage System, which is made to prevent water clogs, serve as an underground drain, and collect water leaks from basement walls. Next, our team installed our CleanSpace Wall System around the basement wall perimeter, which is made to prevent mold and humidity, cover any holes or divots, and give the basement a neat and clean appearance. Lastly, Jose and his crew installed our SuperSump Plus M53 Sump Pump, which comes with two pumps and is designed to keep basements clean for long periods of time. To complete the entire project, our crew filled the open-floor gaps with river rock and applied a new layer of concrete over the rock. The basement looked much neater than when they found it and the transformation beautified the homeowner!
