Basement Waterproofing Transformation in Sartell, MN
Challenge
Shayna from Sartell, MN, contacted us when she began to notice water entering the basement level of her home. Shayna knew that water in her basement could potentially lead to various health concerns for her and her family, along with the possibility of severely compromising the foundation of the home. Shayna came across our services and called to speak to one of our Customer Care Representatives about using her FREE estimate to have one of our Waterproofing Design Specialists out to her property to assess the issue and make a recommendation.
Our Design Specialist, Dylan, went out to the property to complete a thorough inspection of the entire foundation. Dylan had blocked off 3 hours for the visit to ensure that each area of the basement was adequately reviewed. Once he had completed the inspection, he had several suggested solutions for Shayna. First, Dylan wanted to address the water entering the basement by installing our WaterGuard below-floor drainage system. This system works to gather any water entering through the wall, catching it below the floor at the floor-wall joint and directing it to a sump basket. Next, Dylan recommended the installation of well duct window drains to address any water entering the basement through the window well. This drain works to catch any water in the window well and direct it to the WaterGuard drain below the floor. Finally, Dylan wanted to give all of the unwanted water the proper place to be expelled so he recommended our Super Sump Plus be installed in a corner of the basement which would lead out to a standard discharge line outside of the home. Dylan explained to Shayna that her best bet for a dry basement would be installing all these systems to work together.
Solution
Our Foreman, Kiko, and his team began their installation process by locating the best area in the basement for the Super Sump Plus to be placed. Next, they jackhammered the concrete around the perimeter of the basement floor to gain access to lay WaterGuard atop the foundation footing. Once the WaterGuard was down, they covered the WaterGuard in a layer of concrete to secure it. The crew ended by installing the window well duct drains underneath the interior of the window sills.
Once the installations were complete we left Shayna satisfied with her newly waterproofed basement!
