Watery Basement Space Dried Up in Burtrum, MN
Challenge
Thomas, a homeowner in Burtrum, MN was having troubles with water in his basement space. He wanted to figure out how to solve the problem thoroughly and effectively, so he called American Waterworks to claim his FREE estimate.
One of our Design Specialists, Shane, went out to the property, did a full evaluation, and gave Thomas his recommendations. Thomas got all his questions answered and gave our team the go-ahead to get started.
Solution
Our Foreman, Kiko, and his production crew started in on three main goals. First, the installation of our WaterGuard System began with breaking out the concrete floor perimeter, and forming a trench. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, its easy-to-access service ports, and its ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. Second, they installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner, may experience.
Along with the TripleSafe Sump Pump is a battery backup that helps in cases where power is lost in a home, then the battery will keep the pumps draining any excess water build-up. To complete the WaterGuard project, Kiko and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
The team then proceeded to install the CleanSpace Wall System around the perimeter of the basement. This prevents any humidity from invading the walls and gives the basement and clean and bright appearance with a 25-year-warranty. Our CleanSpace Wall System is attached to the walls with plastic fasteners so it never falls.
Thomas was very pleased with the outcome and glad he made the decision to work with American Waterworks.
