Watery Basement Space Dried Up in Burtrum, MN
Challenge
Thomas, a homeowner in Burtrum, MN, was having trouble with water in his basement. He wanted to figure out how to solve the problem thoroughly and effectively, so he called American Waterworks to claim his FREE estimate.
One of our design specialists, Shane, went to the property, completed it fully, and gave Thomas his recommendations. Thomas answered all his questions and gave our team the go-ahead to get started.
Solution
Our Foreman, Kiko, and his production crew started in on three main goals. First, installing our WaterGuard System began with breaking out the concrete floor perimeter and forming a trench. Our WaterGuard is a patented below-floor drain that rests in a drainage bed on top of the foundation footing. It is our most commonly used drain system because of its resistance to water clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from basement walls. Second, they installed our TripleSafe Sump Pump System. The TripleSafe Sump Pump System has three levels of protection to solve all water problems a homeowner may experience.
Along with the TripleSafe Sump Pump is a battery backup that helps in cases where power is lost in a home. The battery keeps the pumps draining any excess water build-up. To complete the WaterGuard project, Kiko and his team covered the open gaps with rock and replaced the concrete.
The team then proceeded to install the CleanSpace Wall System around the perimeter of the basement. This prevents humidity from invading the walls and gives the basement a clean and bright appearance, with a 25-year warranty. Our CleanSpace Wall System is attached to the walls with plastic fasteners, so it never falls.
Thomas was delighted with the outcome and was glad he decided to work with American Waterworks.
