Stabilized and Waterproofed Basement in Brownton, MN
Challenge
A homeowner in Brownton, MN, made a startling discovery in their basement, standing water. Concerned about the damages it could have caused, the homeowner knew they needed a professional to inspect their home as soon as possible. After looking at several waterproofing companies, the homeowner finally found us, American Waterworks. Once the estimate was made, one of our Design Specialists, Ryan, traveled to the home to begin the inspection. Ryan greeted the homeowner and began the in-depth inspection of the basement. After he was complete, Ryan determined the basement needed to be waterproofed and permanently stabilized.
Solution
After reviewing Ryan's suggested plan, the homeowner knew it was the best option for their home. The plans were sent to our Foreman, Jeromy, and his crew to begin production. Once they arrived, Jeromy and his crew began by installing the WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. The WaterGuard is our award-winning, patented below-floor drain that is clog-resistant, has easy-to-access service points, and can collect leaking water from basement walls. Next, the crew replaced the old sump pump with the SuperSump+, a drainage system that keeps basements dry and healthy for extended periods. Then, the crew attached CleanSpace to the basement walls. CleanSpace is a waterproof plastic vapor barrier that attaches to unfinished basement walls. On the outside of the home, the crew installed the IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting, on the discharge line. Finally, the crew replaced the old wood posts with SmartJacks, a system that provides solid support for sagging and undersized beams. The crew completed the combination job and left the home.
