Pine Island, MN, Waterproofed Basement

Challenge

A homeowner in Pine Island, MN, was nervous that the water leaking into their basement was causing long-term damage. Years prior, the homeowner had our company perform a FREE estimate but decided not to follow through on the project. Since they knew we still offer FREE estimates, the homeowner called our Appointment Center to sign up for another. Rick, one of our Design Specialists, traveled to the home to perform the estimate. Rick determined the basement walls showed signs of water intrusion, and would only worsen if not taken care of.

Solution

Once Rick could find the issues, he devised a recommended action plan. Rick suggested that they install brand-new waterproofing products. Wanting a lasting solution, the homeowner agreed and the plans were sent to the assigned crew. Our Foreman, Lane, and his crew arrived at the home and began by prepping the basement for the installation. First, the crew dug channels for the WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. The WaterGuard is an award-winning, patented below-floor drain that rests in a bed of drainage stone on top of the foundation. After the WaterGuard was installed, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe, our most reliable sump pump that provides three levels of protection for your basement. Next, the crew attached CleanSpace, a waterproof plastic vapor barrier, to the basement walls. Finally, the crew attached the IceGuard, an anti-freeze fitting, to the outside discharge line.
