Challenge
In Plymouth, MN a homeowner grew concerned when he noticed water puddles surrounding the base of their basement fireplace. He was worried about what that meant for the state of the fireplace and how to prevent any more damage from being done in the area. He decided to reach out to a professional company that could help him out and end the water issues. During the search he came across the American Waterworks website and was intrigued that we offered FREE no-obligation appointments for customers. Deciding to get some more information before agreeing to anything, he scheduled his free estimate. We sent over Design Specialist Michel Ramirez to the site where he could closely inspect the basement and speak with the homeowner.
Solution
To prevent any more water leakage and damage, Michel recommended that multiple waterproofing products be installed. The homeowner was happy to hear of a solution that could restore the space and said yes to the plan. Our Foreman, Jeromy Anderson, and his crew arrived at the site to begin the project. First, they installed the WaterGuard system which is popular because of its resistance to clogs, easy-to-access service ports, and ability to collect leaking water from the basement walls. Next, the crew replaced the old sump pump and installed a SuperSump Plus pump system, engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods of time, even in times of heavy water intrusion. The WaterGuard is designed to intercept the leaky fireplace water and send it away to the SuperSump Plus pump. When the installations were finished, the crew cleaned up the space and left the home. The basement area was finally waterproofed for the homeowner to enjoy again, and he was thankful for our help.
