Leaky Basement Gets Transformed in Easton, MN

Challenge

A homeowner in Easton, MN, noticed a pool of water on her basement floor. Hoping to catch any major problems before they got worse, she gave us a call, and we set her up with her FREE estimate. A few weeks later our Design Specialist, Ryan, headed out to the home to inspect the basement. 

Solution

After Ryan completed his walkthrough, he informed the homeowner that American Waterworks could provide her with a combination waterproofing system to address the issue. He explained that leaky walls can be addressed with two of our products, WaterGuard and CleanSpace. Ryan elaborated, explaining that the CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof tarp-like material that gets installed directly to the basement walls. Its purpose is to direct any water entering through the walls down, along the barrier, and into the WaterGuard, a below-floor drain that works to collect water entering from the ground or the walls, directing it to the proper disposal site and keeping it off the floor. The homeowner agreed and work was scheduled to begin a few weeks later. 

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Jose, began the process by jackhammering around the perimeter of the basement to lay the WaterGuard. Once the jackhammering was complete, Jose and his team installed the clean space on the wall, ensuring it ran the length of the wall, and ran into the area they had jackhammered. To finish the install, they laid the WaterGuard in the trench, covered it with drainage rock, and then a fresh layer of cement. 

Now that the job has been completed, our homeowner is thrilled to know she no longer needs to worry about heavy rainfall!
