Unhealthy Basement Gets Transformed in Windom, MN

A homeowner from Windom, MN, had been keeping an eye on his basement for a few years now. After each rainfall, a tiny amount of water found its way onto his basement floor. Concerned about what this could mean for a resale value, he decided to find a Minnesota basement waterproofing company. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and a few weeks later, our Design Specialist, Ryan P, headed out to the home.

Solution

After Ryan finished his walkthrough, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. Ryan explained that he wanted to create a system that would protect the entire basement and, for that reason, was recommending three of our products. First, Ryan wanted to wrap the basement walls in our CleanSpace vapor barrier. This 100% waterproof plastic barrier gets adhered directly to unfinished basement walls. It works to catch water entering through cracks and holes in the foundation, directing it downward and into a perimeter drainage system, WaterGuard. Ryan's second recommendation, WaterGuard is a modern below-floor drain that sits on the footing of the foundation, out of the "mud zone" where similar drains tend to clog. WaterGuard collects water from the CleanSpace, as well as any water entering through holes or cracks in the floor. It then carries the water to a disposal site, which Ryan was recommended to be our TripleSafe sump pump. This sump is the most reliable system we offer. It boasts three levels of protection for your basement and your peace of mind. The homeowner liked the sound of Ryan's plan, and scheduled the job for several weeks later.

On the day of the installation, our Foreman, Victor S, and his team made quick work of the installation. They began by digging a trench for the WaterGuard and sump to be placed in. While the trench was being dug, another part of Victor's team got started on installing the CleanSpace on the basement walls. Next, the CleanSpace was run down into the trench to connect with the WaterGuard. Then the WaterGuard and sump were placed, the WaterGuard was connected to the sump, and covered in a fresh layer of drainage stone and cement to keep it in place. Now, our customers can enjoy a dry, healthy space!
