Soaked Basement Dried in Calmar, IA

Challenge

A homeowner in Calmar, IA, made a concerning discovery, their basement was flooded and had several wet spots throughout. Wanting answers, the homeowner knew they needed an expert's opinion. The homeowner asked their friends who had a similar issue, and they recommended working with us, American Waterworks. The homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists, Brady, to the home to begin the estimate.

Solution

Once Brady arrived, he introduced himself to the homeowner and began the thorough investigation of the basement. During his investigation, Brady found the basement was suffering from hydrostatic pressure. To stop the issue from continuing, Brady suggested installing several waterproofing products to ensure their basement would stay dry. The homeowner agreed with Brady's recommendations and the plans were passed to our office to be approved. Once our Logistics team built the project, they sent the plans to our Foreman, Juan, and his crew. After receiving the plans, Juan and his crew traveled to Calmar and began the waterproofing installation. First, Juan and his crew began by installing WaterGuard around the perimeter of the basement. WaterGuard is a perimeter drain system that is specifically engineered to fix basement issues without clogging. Next, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. Additionally, the crew dug a feedline to connect the WaterGuard to the SuperSump+. Finally, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a quick and economical way to encapsulate basement walls. Once all the products were installed, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home.
