Manly, IA, Water Damaged Basement Restored

Challenge

A homeowner in Manly, IA, was inspecting their basement following a heavy rainstorm. Once they took a closer look, the homeowner noticed puddles of water throughout their basement. Concerned that this could turn into a major issue, the homeowner knew they needed to take action. The homeowner wanted an expert to provide them with some answers, so they asked a local Facebook group for any recommendations. Several members of the group recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner signed up for their FREE estimate. Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Iowa-based Design Specialists, Ryan, to the home to provide the homeowner with answers.

Solution

Soon after Ryan arrived, he began his detailed walkthrough of the basement. Ryan confirmed that the basement was poorly waterproofed, so he recommended several products that would solve that issue. The homeowner trusted Ryan's plan, so the proposal was sent to our office to be approved. After the Logistics team built the project, it was sent to our Foreman, Kevin, and his crew. Once they received the proposal, Kevin and his crew traveled to the home and began the installation. First, Kevin and his crew installed WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. WaterGuard is a perimeter drain system specifically engineered to fix basement water problems. Next, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the TripleSafe. Once the TripleSafe was secured, the crew attached CleanSpace to the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% plastic vapor barrier that encapsulates basement walls. Kevin and his crew successfully installed all the products, so they cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was thankful to know their basement was properly waterproofed.
