Leaky Basement Gets Transformed in Plainview, MN
Challenge
A homeowner from Plainview, MN, had a serious basement issue. Each time it rained, water pooled at the base of the basement walls, and he was worried about the damage this could cause if left untreated. Solution
Dustin got right to work inspecting the basement. Once he concluded, he met with the homeowner to deliver his recommendations. First, Dustin wanted to use our CleanSpace vapor barrier. He explained that CleanSpace is a 100% waterproof vapor barrier installed directly to basement walls. It works to direct water entering through the wall downward and into a perimeter drain. The second product Dustin recommended was our WaterGuard, a perimeter drain that sits below the basement floor and atop the footing of the foundation. This unique placement keeps the drain out of the "mud zone" where similar drains tend to clog. It works to collect water draining downward from the CleanSpace, as well as up through cracks in the floor, giving the water a channel to flow to a disposal site. Dustin's third recommendation, our SuperSump sump pump, complemented both of these products. Our SuperSump is an effective yet economical solution for damp basements. It's engineered to help keep the basement dry and healthy for extended periods, even in times of heavy water intrusion. The homeowner liked the idea of complementing products and decided to schedule the project on the spot.
The day of the project eventually rolled around, and our Foreman, Francisco E, led his team through a flawless installation. When they had concluded, they had successfully installed 1 SuperSump sump pump, 75ft of WaterGuard, and 75 ft of CleanSpace. Now our customer can enjoy the rain without worrying that it will end up in the basement of his home!
