Moldy Basement Gets Transformed in Eau Claire, WI

Challenge

A homeowner from Eau Claire, WI, was moving some boxes in her basement one day when she moved a box and was surprised to find an area of mold growth on her basement floor. She was very concerned about what this could mean for the health of her home, so she claimed her FREE estimate, and several weeks later, Jesse W, one of our Design Specialists, was headed out to the home.

Solution

Jesse got right to work assessing the basement. When he completed the inspection, he met with the homeowner to let her know that we could address the basement. He explained that the presence of mold meant that the water was probably taking on water, and without a means to dispose of the water, it was sitting, causing the issue. Jesse recommended two of our products to combat the issue. First, he recommended our WaterGuard perimeter drain. This unique French drain gets installed below the slab of the floor but atop the footing of the foundation of the home. This placement keeps the drain out of the 'mud zone' where other drains of its natural tend to clog. It works to collect water coming up from the floor, giving it a channel to flow freely to the proper disposal site, keeping it off the basement floor. Second, Jesse noticed the basement lacked a proper means of water disposal such as a sump pump or discharge line. For this reason, he recommended our SuperSump sump pump, an economical and effective solution. The SuperSump® includes a powerful Zoeller® ⅓ horsepower cast-iron sump pump, capable of pumping 2,220 gallons of water per hour at an 8-foot head out of your basement. The homeowner liked the sound of Jesse's plan and scheduled the job for later in the year.

The day of the project rolled around and our team wasted no time with the installation. Led by their Foreman, Arturo M, they successfully installed 48ft of WaterGuard, and 1 SuperSump sump pump. When they finished our customer was thrilled to know her water intrusion issues were behind her!
