Leaky Basement Gets Transformed in Waumandee, wI
Challenge
A homeowner from Waumandee, WI, was down in her basement one night during heavy rain and was shocked when she noticed her basement taking on water in several corners. She was immediately worried about what this could mean for the health of her home so she took to the internet to search for 'waterproofing companies near me'. When he found our website, he signed up for his FREE estimate, and several weeks later, our Design Specialist, Mac C, headed out to the home.
Solution
When Mac arrived, he got right into the basement to see what the problem was. When he finished his inspection, he met with the homeowner to deliver his findings. Mac began by saying that the homeowner was right to contact us, as waterproofing issues are usually cheaper to address when they're caught versus further down the road. His first recommendation was to install our CleanSpace vapor barrier. Mac explained that this 100% waterproof tarp-like material gets installed directly to the unfinished basement wall and works to catch water entering through cracks or holes in the walls, directing it downward and into a perimeter drain, which he was recommended to be our WaterGuard system. WaterGuard is a unique French drain that gets installed below the concrete floor but atop the footing of the foundation. This placement allows the drain to stay out of the 'mud zone' where similar drains tend to clog. This drain functions to give water entering from the CleanSpace, as well as from the floor, a channel to flow freely to the appropriate disposal site, whether that be a sump pump or a discharge line. While Mac was inspecting the home he realized the home lacked a means of disposing of unwanted water, so he recommended our SuperSump plus. This sump pump is an economical yet highly effective means of disposing of unwanted water. The homeowner agreed and the work was scheduled for several weeks later.
On the day of the installation, our team wasted no time getting to work. Led by their Foreman, Luis D, our team successfully installed 34 ft of CleanSpace, 60 ft of WaterGuard, and 1 SuperSump sump pump. Now, our customer can enjoy the weather with confidence, knowing her basement won't see a drop!
