Leaky Basement Waterproofed and Stabilized in Wahpeton, ND

Challenge

A homeowner in Wahpeton, ND, noticed several damp spots throughout their basement. Unsure of the cause, the homeowner knew they needed to find a permanent solution. Unsure who to work with, the homeowner asked a local Facebook group for any recommendations. Several members of the group recommended working with us, American Waterworks. Solution

Once the estimate was set, we sent one of our Design Specialists to the home to take a closer look. The Design Specialist arrived and began his thorough inspection of the basement. During his inspection, the Design Specialist determined the basement needed to be permanently stabilized and waterproofed. The Design Specialist presented his proposal to the homeowner and they agreed. Once the plans were approved, the Design Specialist passed the plans along to our office to approve the plans. Our Logistics team scheduled and built the project, then it was assigned to our Foreman, Emmanuel, and his crew. Emmanuel and his crew traveled to the Wahpeton and began the project. First, Emmanuel and his crew started by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. WaterGuard is our innovative perimeter drain system that prevents clogging and flooding. Once the WaterGuard was secured, the crew took out the old sump pump and replaced it with the SuperSump+. Next, the crew attached four PowerBraces to the basement walls. PowerBraces is a patented wall repair system that stabilizes struggling foundation walls. Finally, the crew installed CleanSpace on the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a 100% plastic vapor barrier that encapsulates basement walls. Once all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home.
