Challenge

A homeowner in Decorah, IA, knew it was time to fully repair their basement. Hoping to fully renovate, they knew they needed to find a basement waterproofing and foundation repair to fulfill their request. The homeowner knew neighbors who had similar work done, so they asked them for any recommendations. Several of their neighbors recommended working with us, American Waterworks, so the homeowner decided to take a closer look at our company. Next, the homeowner called our Appointment Center and signed up for their FREE estimate. After the estimate was set, the homeowner prepared for the arrival of our Design Specialist, Ryan.

Solution

Ryan arrived at the home and began his detailed inspection of the property. While inspecting the entire basement, the homeowner found several areas where the basement was struggling. To stop the water intrusion and cracked wall from continuing, Ryan recommended installing CarbonArmor strips, and WaterGuard, and replacing their current sump pump. Knowing this was their best option, the homeowner agreed with Ryan’s proposal. After the proposal was confirmed, Ryan passed the plans along to our Logistics team to build and schedule the plans. Once the plans were finalized, it was assigned to our Foreman, Luis, and his crew. About a month later, Luis and his crew traveled to the home to begin the installation. Once they arrived, Luis and his crew began by installing WaterGuard around the basement perimeter. WaterGuard is our innovative below-floor basement system. As soon as the WaterGuard was secured, the crew shifted their focus to taking out the old sump pump and replacing it with the TripleSafe sump pump, one of the most elite sump pumps on the market. Finally, the crew attached CarbonArmor strips to the unfinished basement walls. CarbonArmor strips are reinforcement strips that protect and secure struggling foundation walls. Finally, the crew completed the installation by installing CleanSpace on the unfinished basement walls. CleanSpace is a waterproof plastic barrier that protects against water. After all the products were secured, the crew cleaned up their materials and left the home. The homeowner was delighted with the superb work completed by the crew.
