Apartment Complex Updates Sump Pump in Byron, MN

Challenge

A tenant in Byron, MN, has noticed multiple signs of water damage, such as damp walls and wet floors, and decided to contact his landlord so that the issue could be resolved. The landlord decided to look into waterproofing services in the area and came upon our website. He was impressed that we offer FREE estimates and decided to claim his. After scheduling the appointment, he informed the tenant that one of our experts would be at the home to inspect the issue.

Solution

In a couple of weeks, our Service Technician, Braden A., arrived at the home to conduct a thorough inspection of the apartment. He had informed the landlord and tenant that one of the common causes of wet floors and damp walls is a failed footing drain. When this fails, it causes the soil around the foundation to become saturated. Water then enters through the joint between the footing and the wall, through cracks in the wall, and even under the footing. To fix this issue, Braden suggested installing our SuperSump+, WaterGuard, and IceGuard. The landlord agreed, and Braden's design was sent to our Foreman.

In a couple of months, our Foreman, Jesus M., and his crew arrived at the home for the installation. They installed the sump pump by first excavating a sump pump pit where the liner and pump would be placed. Next, the crew installs the perimeter drain system, which is our WaterGuard. These are installed by jackhammering the floors around the perimeter of the apartment. Then, clean gravel is set down, and the WaterGuard rests on top. Lastly, it is backfilled with more clean stone. The crew installed 20ft of the WaterGuard. Next, one IceGuard was installed outside of the complex. Our IceGuard is our discharged line that is designed not to freeze under cold temperatures. Once the WaterGuard and IceGuard are installed, a special outlet connects both of them to the sump pump, and clean gravel is backfilled around the sump pump liner. Lastly, the flooring would be restored with concrete. Once the crew was done with the installations, they cleaned up their equipment and left the home.
